L’accoglienza funziona come rigeneratore di ruolo, di opportunità, di libertà e di socialità; porta in modo naturale a innescare processi di integrazione perché la visibilità e la condivisione rappresentano gli elementi portanti. Promuoviamo ogni giorno lo scambio tra persone provenienti dalle più diverse parti del mondo e persone con problemi di salute mentale, al fine di generare abilitazione

Lavorare a un progetto di accoglienza integrata significa che coloro che abitano all’OstellOlinda, con il sostegno degli ostellatori, trovano opportunità di socialità e al tempo stesso, i clienti dell’ostello trovano un’accoglienza alberghiera centrata sulla qualità del servizio e delle relazioni, in una cornice urbana assolutamente insolita a Milano.

An integrated hostel

We believe in the concept of hospitality, intended as an integration tool.

Hospitality works as a role regenerator of opportunity, sociability and liberty, it leads naturally to trigger processes of social integration because the visibility is one of the major elements.

We are searching to promote exchanges with the outside world of people coming from the world of mental health with the aim of creating habilitation.

Carrying forward a project of differentiated hospitality means that some people suffering from mental health problems have fond here their residence, the staff’s support and opportunity of relationship.

At the same time our customers find hostel hospitality centered on the quality of service and on the relationships inside a completely unusual urban setting for the city of Milan.

Come nasce OstellOlinda
Negli anni Novanta, lavorando alla chiusura dell’ex Ospedale Psichiatrico, abbiamo ospitato nell’ex convitto infermieri, dove già vivevano alcuni ospiti del Paolo Pini, i primi volontari europei, interessati ai progetti d’impresa sociale di Olinda. Questa combinazione di accoglienza tra persone ‘esterne’ e ‘interne’ non solo ha funzionato bene, ma ci ha convinto a trasformare l’ex convitto in un progetto di accoglienza integrata.

Who we are
During the nineties, while we were working at the closure of the former psychiatric hospital, we hosted in the former nurses dormitory, where lived some patients of the Paolo Pini, the first European volunteers who were interested in the first projects of the social firm Olinda. This combination of finding accommodation between outsiders and insiders not only worked well but convinced us to transform the former nurses dormitory into a hostel accommodation project.
